Your taste, kept private

We collect the inputs you give the curation engine — colours, vibe, occasion, time of day, optional weather context — plus the items you save to your collection and the feedback you leave on recommendations. If you create an account, we store your email address so we can sign you in and sync your collection across devices.

We record anonymous product analytics (screen views, feature usage, outbound clicks) to understand which parts of Aura are useful. We do not sell your personal data, and we never use your photos or preferences to train third-party advertising profiles.

The scanner in My Collection asks for camera access only when you open it, and the stream is released the moment you close it. Nothing is recorded — Aura captures a single still frame when you tap Capture.

That frame is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI parsing endpoint, held in memory only for the seconds it takes to read the bottle or care tag, and then discarded. Captured images are not written to a public server, not published to any external gallery, and not retained on external public infrastructure without your explicit consent. What persists is the structured result you confirm — brand, name, note pyramid, tags — saved to your own collection.

If you decline camera access, everything still works: upload a photo instead, or type the item in by hand and let the parser fill in the notes.

Aura is usable without an account. In Local Guest Mode, your collection, taste profile, and generated compositions are stored in your browser's local storage on your device only — they never reach our database. Clearing your browser data or switching devices removes them, and we cannot recover them.

When you create an account or sign in, Aura offers to migrate that local data into your account so it syncs everywhere. From then on, your rows are protected by row-level security: only your authenticated session can read or write them. Deleting your account removes your synced collection, feedback, and taste profile.

We also use a small amount of local and session storage for essentials — your session token, theme, language, unit preference, and an anonymous analytics session id.

Shopping actions such as Shop Look and Buy Sample are routed through our /go redirect so we can attribute the click. Aura may earn a referral commission when you buy through those links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence which pieces the engine recommends.

The redirect logs the destination category and a coarse timestamp. It does not pass your email, photos, or collection contents to the merchant.

You can export or delete your collection from the collection view, adjust your learned taste weights on the Taste screen, revoke camera access in your browser settings at any time, and request deletion of your account data through in-app support.
